Changes in the Students
Before finishing my observation, there is some problem that I encountered. The only problem that I think I encounter is the suspension of classes because of the weather condition. That is why completing my observation for 20 hours is a real struggle.
The students on my first day of observation are noisy and they didn't greet me a good morning, well that is ok for me because I was just having a favor to them. But then my resource teacher told them that I will be a future teacher too so they should greet me. On the second day of my observation, the students greeted me a good morning with enthusiasm. Little by little the students lessen the noise in the classroom. Until one day, I entered the classroom with very quiet students until the last day of my observation. My resource teacher used some strategies to lessen the noise in the classroom. For example, writing the names of those who cause noise. I thought this strategy will not work but it worked. The students behave well they don't need to be disciplined using punishment.
The students are participative in the discussion. They are also industrious students. They like being asked to do something.

Promoting Child's Right at Angeles Elementary School
Children
are one if the most important asset of a nation. Every child has its right to
have a happy life. The molding of the attitude of children starts at home.
Children or pupils' protection and rights at Angeles Elementary School is well
observed. Teachers don't let their pupils to go outside the school campus
especially when it is class hours for their safety. Teachers also follow the
law that pupils nowadays cannot be punished by hurting them physically.
In
the classroom that I observed stereotyping between pupils to pupils is 5%
observed. Some pupils were laughing at their sit in classmate because he cannot
spell his name correctly, read fast, and read some words or phrases.
Teachers
treat pupils as if they are their own son/daughter. They don’t use a corporal
punishment to discipline pupils. Love and care is one way of showing on how
teachers protect their pupils.
Discipline and Procedure by Harry Wong
Harry
Wong stated that it is not the discipline that lacks in the classroom but it is
the routines and procedures on how to learn. Because discipline is the practice
of training people to obey rules or a code of behavior, using punishment to
correct disobedience.
We
don’t punish our pupils, we teach them. It’s the teacher who lacks in
procedure. The procedure on how we will make our students busy at the same time
learning. The procedure on how we will discipline our pupils by not using
punishments.
Remember,
Harry Wong also said in his previous film that we don’t manage discipline, we
manage classroom. We are the manager of the classroom then we are the manager
of the procedure on how discipline is done.
We should be consistent in our rules and routines. An effective teacher do not shout to others that he/she is effective. Because an effective teacher is a mature person.
If
pupils are engaged in a lot works, then they will learn a lot of things.
Teachers as a Role Model of Moral Values
We all know that as a teacher we should be a role model to
our pupils. They said that you have to walk your talk. How can teach pupils to
do something good if you yourself is not doing it, right? So we all should be a
good example to our pupils and to everyone, we should do what we say.
Teacher Eva has been a model of moral values. One time,
when the pupils were doing their work in the garden one of the pupils tease his
classmate then there were conflict. In the classroom they settle the conflict. Teacher
Eva shared her experience about having conflict with someone, and she said that
it was her who made a wrong thing. Then she said to the class that you need to
be honest even if you’re the one who made a wrong thing.
She also stays positive despite being around with the
toxic people. She said that when you enter the real world you will face a lot
of challenges especially those people who are insecure to you will pull you
down.
As a teacher you need to show determination in following a
meaningful life, patiently follows moral values in his life without the fear of
getting judged and hence stands out in the crowd.

Angeles Elementary School's Educational System
It was my first time to observe at Angeles
Elementary School (AES). That is why I am not that familiar to their school
system. But, through this observation, it helps me to familiarize not all but
at least there is some.
One of my observation in the school is that teachers
are really dedicated to teach. Also they don’t just focus in teaching the
content, they also let students to experience. For example, the teachers let
their students to work in the garden, to plant some vegetables and etc. Which I
think is good because they can learn there and they can use their experience if
they want to put up their own garden at home. I also observed that because of
the past weather conditions, AES set a makeup class every Saturday to learn the
lessons they haven’t discussed because of the weather.
When there are activities or program, they don’t let
students who are far away from school to watch for their safety. They let
students to watch who were just walking distance from the school.
There is one student from the students I observed
who they call “sit-in”. I asked my cooperating teacher why they call him “sit-in”,
and she said that because it’s his 2nd time now in grade 6. They
just teach him on how to properly read because he is having a hard time to read
fast and sometimes he exchange the pronunciation of some words.
This are just few from what I observe in this
school.

MY RESOURCE TEACHER'S PHILOSOPHY
Students are equipped for learning if they have their motivation. I should
know on the most proficient method to propel my students to learn. Every
student is different, if you have 30 students in a classroom then you should
have at least 30 different teaching methods, strategies or techniques. I
believe that children learn through experience and of course they also learn
from the lectures or discussion. Or let’s just say, children learn just by
watching, listening, and by doing. There are also students who are good in oral
but not good in written and vice versa.
I
should also
know the strength and weaknesses of my students. One of the weaknesses of my
students is they lack self-esteem. That’s why I show to them that I love them,
I guide them when they want to try new things, and I praise them or their work
every time they made a good work. These are just some of the things that I do
to help them build their self-esteem.
As their second parent, I
respect, love, guide, and care for them. I also communicate with them every day
to really show to them that I do love them just like asking on how are they.
